Lexington Three Schools To Release Students Early On Friday, January 12th

The National Weather Service is predicting that another round of severe weather will impact our area on Friday, January 12th. Thunderstorms are expected to move into central South Carolina on Friday afternoon that could produce damaging winds with gusts between 40 and 70 miles per hour, hail, flooding and possible tornadoes. Such conditions could affect the safe operation of school buses as the South Carolina Department of Education does not allow buses to operate when wind gusts are greater than 40 miles per hour.

Out of consideration for the safety of our students and staff members, Lexington County School District Three will release students early on Friday, January 12th. Students will dismiss using the schedule below. Please note that these dismissal times are thirty minutes earlier than our normal early release day schedule due to predictions on the storm’s arrival.

B-L Primary School will dismiss students at 11:00 am.

B-L Elementary School will dismiss students at 11:15 am.

B-L Middle School will dismiss students at 11:45 am.

B-L High School will dismiss students at 12:00 pm.

All afterschool-related activities are canceled on Friday, January 12th to include scheduled meetings, classes, practices and athletic games.

As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, January 15th in recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. All of our schools will resume their regular schedules on Tuesday, January 16th.
