On Sunday, March 15th, Governor Henry McMaster announced that all schools in South Carolina will be closed through March 31st in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, otherwise known as the Coronavirus.
As Lexington County School District Three prepares for this mandatory shut-down, administrators are working hard to properly disseminate information to all of the district’s stakeholders.
Students were already scheduled to be out of school tomorrow, March 16th, for a scheduled Professional Development/Teacher Workday. Teachers will be working on Monday to provide parents, guardians and students with assignments that can be completed at home during the extended closing.
As we face this unprecedented situation, there are many questions yet to be answered. The situation is very fluid and district officials are working closely with DHEC and the State Department of Education to monitor developments and provide staff, students, and families with updated information on a regular basis.
Please continue to monitor your email, the district website (www.lex3.org) and district social media for regular updates. As always, Lexington Three’s top priority is the health and safety of our students, staff and families.
