Lexington County School District Three Mentors and Reading Buddies are ready to begin another year and are eager to make a difference in the lives of students at Batesburg-Leesville Primary and Elementary Schools. These dedicated volunteers give at least one hour of their time weekly or bi-weekly to visit with their mentees at the two schools. Some of the mentors have more than one mentee that they meet with on a regular basis. They read with them or to them, play games, talk together and get to know each other, all with the hope of guiding and influencing these young lives in a positive manner.
Lexington Three Mentoring Program Coordinator Elizabeth Phillips hosted an orientation dinner for these devoted individuals on August 29th at Wiz’s Eatery. New and experienced mentors and reading buddies came together to talk about the mentoring program and enjoy a delicious dinner.
More mentors and reading buddies are still needed for the 2019-2020 school year. Individuals who are interested are encouraged to contact Mrs. Phillips for more information about the district’s mentoring program. You may reach Mrs. Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 803-960-1005.
